Omaha Fashion Week
Omaha Fashion Week, often abbreviated OFW, is a mid-September celebration of all things fashion. It features nightly cocktail receptions (6pm) followed by evening runway shows (8pm), culminating in Saturday’s Omaha Fashion Week Grand Finale. While all of the other events, held at the Old Market’s Nomad Lounge, are FREE and 21+, the OFW Grand Finale requires tickets and is open to all ages. The outdoor Grand Finale is a unique event, with the runway taking up two blocks of Jones Street.
OFW bills itself as a “talent incubator,” helping to put Omaha on the national fashion map, and generate excitement for Saturday’s red carpet Grand Finale. Tickets for the Grand Finale are sold at different price levels, $20 getting one in the door for general admission, with reserved and VIP tickets costing considerably more (VIPs receive access to an exclusive open bar pre-party, front row seating, and other perks). VIP Section reservations begin in blocks of 10 and include bottle service.
Over 15 designers are involved with the Grand Finale, but the week is an opportunity for many talented artists around the city to become involved in the surprisingly robust world of Omaha fashion. Models, photographers, stylists, artists, PR professionals, and even street vendors combine with volunteers to make OFW a success. In addition to fashion, the week regularly features a dance party and a featured charity, with past recipients of charitable gifts including Girls Incorporated, The American Heart Association, and the Women’s Fund of Greater Omaha.
