Learning Community of Douglas and Sarpy Counties
The Learning Community of Douglas and Sarpy Counties makes a difference in the lives of children, especially those challenged by poverty. Established as a political subdivision by the Nebraska Legislature, the 18-member Coordinating Council took office in 2009. The Council, made up of elected and appointed representatives from 11 school districts, is funded by legislative appropriations.
With the support of an elementary tax levy, the Learning Community is providing visionary resources to create educational opportunity. It is increasing student achievement with elementary learning centers and innovative programs, backed by proven educational research. The Learning Community advocates for a strong and healthy community where public school students reach their true potential. Visit LearningCommunityDS.org.
