Gallagher Park is an 18.8 acre city park located next to Benson High, just east of the strip of businesses that make up downtown Benson. Gallagher Park is also home to Gallagher Pool, a community pool which remains open from early June to mid August.

Formerly Krug Park, the site of once popular amusement park owned by the Frederick Krug Brewing Company, Gallagher Park was remodeled in 1955 and remains popular among residents today. Its pool is open Monday through Thursday, noon to 8pm (it is closed from 5 - 6pm), and Friday through Sunday from noon to 5pm for a cost of $4.50 for adults. A wading area, water slide, and diving boards are just a few of the pool’s features, with swim classes and pool party rentals also available for community members for an extra fee.

Several of my friends and I were wondering why the pool has constantly been blaring country music this summer. Is this truly the genre the majority of your patrons prefer? Or has the intercom system at this particular Omaha public pool been installed solely for the entertainment of the lifeguards?

Oh no, not COUNTRY!

Seriously… stop that. No one likes country accept for ignorant and small minded sheeple. Every song sounds the same.

Can’t wait for the pool to open. Yay.
